Events: Charity Sets Ceílí - More Information Conradh na Gaelige Boirche Íochtair
On Friday 30th October 2009 Glor na Gael officers adjudicated the Branch on their past years work. We have been very successful in recent years in this All Ireland competition; results will be announced in the New Year. With the Naiscoil now well established the committee are now looking at the prospect of founding a Bunscoil (Irish medium Primary School) in the Mournes. We are currently looking for a 3 acre site in the Maghereagh area to accommodate the new school. The branch are also in the early stages of establishing a Cultúrlann (Irish language community and cultural centre) at the Marine Park in Annalong. The committee are currently exploring funding options, and are taking part in a cross-border and cross-community course, training committee members in management skills and inclusivity. The group will also be engaging in some research within the community in the near future to find out what people would like to see going on in the new centre. We look forward to hearing your opinions. The Gaelic League have been very busy throughout the year, and with the above outlined projects, the busy work is sure to continue through 2010 and beyond.
